Carnival masks which have gained a lot of popularity recently and are used be it any party or festival. These are used in the modern day as a part of a costume or for photography in photo booths. They are very popular when it comes to theme based parties. Also carnival masks find their importance back in the day to some cultural region based festivals as well. These have always been an intricate part of the Venetian carnival. Traditionally the crowd was allowed to wear them only between the festival of Santo Stefano, which is the St. Stephen's Day, celebrated on December 26, and the end of the carnival season at the mid night of Shrove Tuesday.
